I learned to swim as a child with my father. At 8 ans, I was called to join the Caimanes de Guatemala Club, with which I started swimming nationally and internationally.

I participated in several national events and I was part of the Guatemalan national swimming selection for Central American events (Mexique, Dominican Republic and United States). When I was 18 I retired from sports for a while, and then resumed at almost forty.

I was able to participate in many important events and swims, including:

  • the Melbourne World Masters Games 2002 (Australie),
  • the World Masters Games in Edmonton (Canada),
  • Alcatraz Swimming Clinc and the Escape from Alcatraz Swim 2006,
  • the Aguas-Abiertas Anacapa Only 20 Kms De la Isla de Anacapa in Hollywood Beach Oxnard en el Canal de Santa Bárbara in 2008,
  • the lonely 46k Manhattan Swimming Marathon,
  • the lonely 30k from the Island of Santa Cruz to Ventura Beach on the Santa Barbara Channel,
  • the English Channel Crossing where I retired after 54 kilomètres (13:30:35 swimming) 1 km from the French beach, after trying to overcome the current too strong to overcome it.

De 2002 à 2010 I was part of the Asociación de Natación Master de Guatemala (Secretariat of the Board of Directors, Vice-President, President).
