Water is my element, especially the sea. Since I was a child I have always swam. I played water polo up to the age of 26 while also practicing other sports.

One day a training partner invited me to go swimming in the sea. As soon as I entered to swim in the waves I fell in love with it. So it all began. I have been participating in open water events for almost twenty years and I think swimming and water are now part of me.

I love the sea because it is a metaphor for life: it needs to adapt every time, whatever the conditions they present to you, understand and overcome them.

The crossing of the Bocche di Bonifacio is a challenge with yourself in one of the most difficult stretch of sea in the world.
